SHADY GROVE, Pa. — The Franklin County (Pa.) Area Development Corp. on Thursday night celebrated businesses and civic leaders at its annual industry-appreciation banquet.

Named Large Business of the Year was Eldorado Stone, which moved last year to the Antrim Commons Business Park. It employs 265 people.

“We’re looking to hire. We’re expanding. Our production rate is unstoppable,” said Frank Guthrie, plant manager for the business that produces stone veneer for fireplace surrounds, patio features and similar products.

The Small Business of the Year was Mercersburg (Pa.) Printing, which was started in 1997 by Don Shenberger. His family continues to own and operate the business that employs 43 people full time.

“A lot of the opportunities we’ve had have come about because of my father and his understanding of how to treat customers,” Douglas Shenberger said.

Both businesses were nominated, in part, for their charitable giving and environmental stewardship.

Joanne Cochran, president and CEO of Keystone Health, was named the Zane A. Miller Award winner for her contributions to the community.

Cochran co-founded the health center to provide services to migrant farm workers in 1986. It now sees more than 50,000 patients each year.

She thanked God and the community for its support of Keystone Health’s work.
